JPEG is the one format that goes into a PDF untouched: the bytes are copied in rather than decoded and squeezed again, so the photographs in the document are the photographs you started with and the file stays close to their combined size. The pages hold pictures, not characters, so the text inside a photographed document will not be selectable.

Frequently asked questions
Does converting a JPG to PDF reduce its quality?
Not here. JPEG is stored inside a PDF in its own format, so the original data is copied into the document rather than decoded and re-encoded. That is why this is the cheapest conversion of the set: the picture in the PDF is bit-for-bit the picture you dropped in. Converting a PNG is different - it has to be re-encoded or stored losslessly, and both cost something.
Can I put several JPGs into one PDF?
Yes. Drop in as many as you like and each becomes a page, in the order shown. You can drag them into a different order before saving, and add more files afterwards without starting again.
Will the text in my photographed document be searchable?
No, and it is worth being clear about that before you rely on it. A photograph of a page is a picture of text, not text. The PDF will contain the picture, so nothing in it can be selected, copied or found with a search. Extracting the words needs optical character recognition - the image to text tool does that, separately.
Is my photo uploaded anywhere?
No. The PDF is assembled in this page by your own browser. There is no upload step, no queue and no server copy, which is also why it finishes as fast as your device can write the file.
