This tool accepts JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF, BMP, AVIF, HEIC and TIFF files. Everything is decoded by your own browser, so the formats available depend on what your browser can open - which for HEIC in particular varies between Safari and other browsers.
Because the image is rebuilt from raw pixels, EXIF metadata such as camera details, timestamps and GPS coordinates does not carry into the result. Orientation is applied to the pixels first, so photographs stay the right way up. Embedded colour profiles are also dropped and the output is saved as sRGB, which can shift colours slightly in wide-gamut photographs. Animated files are refused rather than being flattened to a single frame.
No. Even in bulk, every file is processed by your own browser. Nothing is uploaded, which is also why there is no per-file size cap based on our bandwidth and no queue.
Yes, including bulk mode. Batch processing is usually a paid feature elsewhere because it costs the provider server time; here it costs your own device's time instead.
Up to 100 files per batch. They are processed a few at a time rather than all at once, because a decoded image uses far more memory than its file size suggests and running dozens simultaneously would crash the tab.
The rest continue. Any file that fails is listed with the reason, and the ZIP contains every image that succeeded. You never lose the whole batch because of one bad file.
Phones have less memory and throttle sustained CPU use, so the tool deliberately processes fewer images at a time there. Large batches are much faster on a laptop or desktop.
